Major Edward Geoffrey Mildmay Buckley, 8th (Service) Battalion Northumberland Fusilers
Edward Buckely, Eton, Sandhurst, was born the son of Edward D. H. Buckley and Ellen Cecilia Buckley on 18th November 1893. He was gazetted into the 1st Battalion The Northumberland Fusiliers in January 1914. However he seems to have resigned right away and however when war broke out in August 1914 he see him reappear again. Here are his dates:

The 1915 Army list shows him as a Temp Lt (as of 15 Nov 1914) with the
8th (Service) Battalion
The 1916 Army list shows him as a Captain (as of 11 Aug 1915) with the
8th (Service) Battalion
He is recorded as having been wounded at Gallipoli during August 1915, whilst serving with the 8th Bn while landing at Sulva Bay with Y Company.
His younger brother Captain Felix George Buckley MC also of the same battalion was killed in France in 1917.
Edward Buckley survived his wounds at Gallipoli and stayed on in the Regiment until 1937 when he left as a Major. However on the outbreak of war in 1939, he rejoined from the reserve of officers and died suddenly in January 1941. He was 48 years old.
